Code of Conduct

PLAYER CODE

I pledge to accept responsibility for my Monster's experience by following this Players code of Conduct.

  1. I will exhibit sportsmanship and fair play at every practice, and game competition.  I will also encourage this behavior from other teammates, coaches, officials, parents and supporters.
  2. I will make every reasonable effort to attend all practices and games, and I will notify my coach if I cannot attend a practice or game competition.
  3. I understand that playing time is determined by my attendance, attitude, and performance at practices.
  4. I will treat other players, coaches, officials and fans with respect.
  5. I will encourage my parents to be involved with my team in some capacity because it is important to me.
  6. I understand that I am representing the West Clovis Monsters.  Poor behavior during practices, games may result in lost of playing time and expulsion from the team.
  7. I will not engage in physical or verbal confrontations with players, coaches, officials or fans before, during or after practices and game competition.
  8. I will refrain from use of foul or offensive language.
  9. I will come to practices and game competition ready to listen, watch and learn from my coaches.
  10. I will understand the rules of the game and play within them.
  11. I will be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.

PARENT CODE

I recognize and accept my responsibility as a representative of the West Clovis Monsters Youth Football and Cheer and my child’s football team and pledge to follow this Parents Code of Conduct:

  1. I will NOT be a sideline coach or referee.  I will limit my comments to positive reinforcement and encouragement to my child and his teammates.
  2. I will lead by example in exhibiting sportsmanship and fair play at every practice and game competition.  I will encourage this behavior from other coaches, players, officials, parents and supporters
  3. I will place the well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.  Winning should be the result of preparation, hard work and discipline.
  4. If my child develops a behavior-related problem that repeatedly disrupts practice and/or games, I promise to work with my child’s coach to resolve the problem.
  5. I will do my very best to make football fun for my child and his teammates.
  6. I promise to treat other fans, coaches, players, and officials with respect.
  7. I will not engage in physical or verbal confrontations with players, coaches, officials or fans before, during or after practices or game competitions.
  8. I will refrain from the use of foul or offensive language.
  9. I will provide encouragement to my child and teammates.  I will refrain from making negative comments to my child or his teammates.
  10. I will support the coaches and officials working with my son in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  11. I will be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.
  12. I will remember that the game is for my child and their teammates, not for adults.
  13. I will remember that as a fan, I represent the West Clovis Monsters.  I understand that any concerns about officiating and/or coaching during a game must be directed to the team manager.  I also understand that poor behavior during practices, games, may result in expulsion from the football field, where I must wait next to my car in the parking area for my child.  If this occurs, it may result in expulsion from the team.

Coaches CODE

I recognize and accept my responsibility as a representative of the West Clovis Monsters Youth Football and Cheer and pledge to follow this Coaches Code of Conduct:

  1. I will conduct myself in a dignified manner relating to emotions, language, attitude and actions.
  2. I will act at all times to protect the principles of fun, safety and development of all athletes. 
  3. I will demonstrate respect for the ability of opponents as well as for the judgment of referees, officials and opposing coaches.
  4. I will display control and professionalism at all times under any circumstance.
  5. I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person, including opponents, other coaches, officials, administrators, parents, athletes, and spectators.
  6. I will refrain from physical contact with athletes except where necessary for the development of the athletes’ skill(s) or athletic ability.
  7. I will be aware and understand the role and influence of a coach as an educator, imparting knowledge of skill as well as proper personal, academic, and social behavior.
  8. I will be reasonable in my demands on athletes' time, energy and enthusiasm.
  9. I will seek to learn the latest coaching practices that take into account the principles of growth and development of athletes.
  10. I will agree to abide by all applicable CCYFL rules and regulations.
