When does the season start?

Practice typically soon after the 4th of July when we get our field assignments and the season runs through the end of November depending on how well each team does.

When, where and how long are football practices?

Practices are usually at Clovis West High School

Practice is from 6 pm to 8 pm Monday through Friday during the summer and move to Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday when school starts with occasional Friday "walk-through's" per coach's discretion

When, where and how long are cheer practices?

Cheer teams are determined each season based on the level of interest/registrations of participants and coaches.  Participation is gauged before each season and if there is not enough interest or a coach has not volunteered, Cheer will be cancelled for that year.

Cheer practices are at the same time and place as football practice but may not be as long or as many days per week.  This will be at the coach's discretion.

When and where are games played?

Games typically start in August and run through mid to late November depending on how the team ranks in the league.

Home games are played at Clovis West High School, away games are played at various school sites in Clovis, Fresno, Sanger, Selma, and Sierra Unified.

All games are played on Saturdays (apart from team scrimmages which are played on practice days) and times are as follows: PeeWees: 9 am; Juniors: 11 am; Seniors: 1 pm

What are the requirements to become a football or cheer coach?

Coaches are required to complete an application and background check, possess some knowledge and experience coaching an organized football or cheer team and have availability to attend each practice and game. In addition, football coaches must attend and complete specific certifications through USA football. If you are interested in joining our coaching staff, please fill out our Coaching Interest Survey.

Who do the Monsters play?

The Monsters play in the Central California Youth Football League (CCYFL) and a full list of teams can be viewed here.

Are players picked for an All Star team at the end of the season?

In years past, the CCYFL has held an All Star game (typically in mid November) in which a select number of player from each level are nominated and invited to play on an All Star team.  However, in 2018 All Stars was discontinued. At this time whether we have an All Star game will be discussed by the league on an annual basis and may be brought back.  All Stars is at the discretion of the CCYFL board and may return in future years.
