June 2024 Updates
Dear Monsters Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer with their family. I am sending out this e-mail to all registered families so we can touch bases on upcoming deadlines and events relating to our team.
Voluntary Workouts
Thank you to all our families who were able to make it out to our preseason workouts on Mondays and Wednesdays. We finished this year with a bang and had a ton of fun with obstacle courses, a visit from former NFL player Kenny Wiggins, and Kona Ice for all the kids. We do these free workouts every year starting around April, and the commitment of not only the players, but also our coaches, is admirable. I would like to especially thank our head coaches this year: Brandon Tucker, Paul Williams, and Joey Rosa. They put in many hours planning and executing our workouts, and their hard work made it all possible. I would also like to thank all our assistant coaches, as well!
Monsters Combine – June 29th
We have our fourth annual Monsters Combine coming up on June 29th! The combine is an opportunity for kids to see where they stand in speed, agility, strength, and more. Through eight different events, players will do their best to be the fastest, jump the best, and use their strength to set a personal record, or maybe even a team record. All paid registered players can participate for free, but you must register on our website HERE. Please see our webpage about the combine HERE for more information.
Payment is Due June 30th
If you have already paid for your player: THANK YOU! If you still need to make arrangements to pay, please do so by June 30th. You may pay online through the Sportsplus website after logging on HERE. Click on “Payments & Orders” on the left-hand side, then choose to make a payment. You may also pay via CashApp, Venmo, or using cash in person by contacting me directly via text or e-mail.
Documents Needed
If you have uploaded documents during registration, I appreciate it! I will print out your documents to be ready for player certification. If you need to submit documents, you may either do so on the Sportsplus website or app, or by e-mailing [email protected]. You may also collect your documents at home and have them ready to turn in at practice beginning July 8th.
Please have the following documents available:
- Proof of School / Grade – any document showing your child’s name, grade, and school. It can be a screenshot from your online parent portal, a report card, etc.
- Sports Physical (current year) – any physical that indicates that the child is cleared for sports and is dated this year (2024) is acceptable. If you need a form, please click HERE for one to print out.
- Copy of Insurance Card
- *6th graders only* Birth Certificate – This season it is only required for 6th grade players, and I must have the original. I will return the original immediately after player certification.
Starting the first week of practice, I will also need to collect signatures on a release of liability, player certification card, and a parent’s code of conduct. I will provide these forms to families.
Practice Begins July 8th
Our first day of practice is July 8th from 6-8pm. You will need to provide cleats, water, and a mouthguard for your player. We do not have confirmation of our school site yet, but I will reach out to all families as well as post on the Sportsplus app when I know our location.
Parent Meeting July 9th
We will be having our parent meeting on July 9th during practice at our school site. Please plan for at least one parent to attend as you will receive vital information regarding the entire season.
Uniform Fittings July 13th at Dick’s
We will have our uniform fittings this day, as well as have a coupon for all our families available to use. Please plan to be there this day so we can get our gear ordered in a timely fashion. I will provide more detailed information at the parent meeting regarding times.
Sportsplus App
Please download the Sportsplus app for your phone! You will be able to find our team chats, schedules, and more for the upcoming season. You may miss important information if you do not have the app downloaded. Log in using the same information you used for registration. If an additional parent would like access using their own e-mail address, please reach out to me directly and I can add them to the team as a parent, as well.
